Telecommunications Field Technician

Pella Fiber is looking for a Field Technician to join our team!

This hands-on position installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs fiber-optic services for Pella Fiber customers. You’ll work directly in homes and businesses to install fiber connections and equipment, diagnose and resolve internet and phone service issues, perform fiber splicing and testing, and help construct and maintain Pella Fiber’s 100% fiber-optic network.

The role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with technology, solving problems, working with their hands, and helping customers. You’ll work with a variety of technology and specialized equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.

A high school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license are required. Technical training or experience in telecommunications, basic electricity, low voltage, fiber optics, or a related field is preferred. Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills are essential.

This position offers scheduling flexibility based on business needs, with the option to work either five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days. For a four-day schedule, the designated day off will be determined based on operational needs.
