Dairy XL Sales Specialist - WEST
JOB SUMMARY: The Dairy XL Sales Specialist – West is responsible for guiding the growth of Lely sales in the large herd sector in the Western Region of the US and Canada.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible to oversee all large herd sales and marketing activities within the dedicated region. Work alongside the Lely NA Regional Sales Manager and the local Lely Center sales teams to develop and maintain an active list of large herd prospects, establish and manage industry relations and be responsible for the overall achievement of the annual volume, revenue and gross margin targets for XL sales. Skilled in introducing the value proposition to prospects and communicating the value proposition of robotic milking versus more traditional conventional methods of harvesting milk in large herds. Regular submission of required reports. Position will be home based (preferably CA or ID) with a travel requirement of 50-60% annually, domestic and/or international. Occasional non-regular work hours for dealer visits, off-site meetings and customer events.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE-
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or Business Management. Sales experience of 5 years; and/or combination of relevant education and experience required. Experience in large dairy herd management and/or operation is a benefit.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public and communicate effectively with people of other regions and cultures.
Progressed Skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, return on investment, cost savings, etc.
Proficient computer skills including Internet and experience working with Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point, Excel and Access.
High level skills with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Independent action within an established field is required; new procedures and approaches to problems must be originated.
Informative and provide professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers; maintain positive interpersonal relationships and encourage openness with customers and peers; present ideas and concept in small and large group settings; develop and deliver professional presentations; experienced with CRM tools, knowledge of Agricultural equipment, Lely NA Organization and departments; operation of equipment for demonstration purposes walk-around presentations; strong organizational skills, attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills and a team player.
