Job Description
Leighton State Bank has a great opportunity for an individual with strong leadership, customer service and communication skills to lead and coach our teller staff.

This full time position based out of our Pella location would provide leadership, training and guidance to the teller staff ensuring the daily activities of serving the banking needs of our customers are performed efficiently, accurately, and professionally. The Teller Supervisor would also be responsible for processing customer transactions while proactively engaging them in conversation and assisting with making appropriate product recommendations or internal department referrals as well as opening and servicing accounts.

The ideal candidate will be customer service focused, organized, and be able to demonstrate strong supervisory skills. This position requires the ability to multi-task and respond to various requests simultaneously.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Demonstrate Effective Management of Teller Staff:
  • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the teller operations ensuring that the needs of the customers are being met in an efficient, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Coach, train, and develop tellers to provide outstanding customer service to bank customers following proper bank procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide supervision of direct reports by assigning and directing work assignments, preparing a schedule that provides appropriate coverage, and conducting performance reviews as necessary but no less than annually.
  • Provide leadership and training either directly or indirectly to new and existing teller staff on the technical aspects of compliance, programs, and procedures.
  • Assist tellers in resolving difficult or complex customer issues.
  • Responsible for ATM and vault cash limits; order and verify coin and currency received and prepare outgoing coin and currency; balance vault as appropriate.
  • Perform periodic audits of teller cash drawers and ATM.
  • Provide service to customers as a teller or customer service representative as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff in other branches to maintain consistent teller operations in all locations.
  • Assist and support the Retail Banking Manager to ensure the retail department is operating efficiently and productively to provide outstanding customer service.
Demonstrate Effective Customer Account and Financial Product Assessment:
  • Assist customers in determining best options by assessing and identifying customer financial needs and explaining bank product alternatives.
  • Process all new account products efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with bank procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate customer account documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding deposit accounts and debit cards; Resolve issues and discrepancies with customer’s accounts.
  • Detect fraudulent transactions and act appropriately to help prevent bank losses.
  • Maintain a well-developed working knowledge of the products and services offered by the bank.
